William Baker is the Chief Operating Officer for Aqua Health Labs, a revolutionary concept in dietary supplementation. A gifted scientist who prefers the lab to the limelight, Baker found an ideal business partner in Jordan Markuson, the CEO of AHL. Their unified vision for the medical, economic and environmental potential of phytoplankton turned Baker’s successful research into an entrepreneurial reality.
William holds a degree in Molecular Biology from the University of Chicago, and has worked in marine aquaculture science for over a decade. A lifetime of outstanding academic and athletic achievement brought him to Stanford to study Biological Sciences at just 16 years old, but a serious football injury brought him home to finish his undergraduate work at the prestigious Chicago institution.
The extensive recovery required for his knee injury led William to investigate the potential medical benefits of Omega-3 essential fatty acids. But being a vegetarian, he was unwilling to eat fish to get the recommended dose of EPA in his diet. His realization that the fish’s diet was the true source led to his phytoplankton research, a rapid knee recovery and the genesis of Aqua Health Labs.
Bolstered by the runaway success of his research that identified a sustainable phytoplankton source of EPA, William is now ready to expand the company’s product line and is currently focused on researching a marine plankton source of DHA.
